Punjab E-Bike Scheme: Rs 3,000 Monthly, How to Apply
Short answer: the Punjab e-bike scheme gives students an electric bike for about Rs 3,000 a month for 3 years, interest-free, with no down payment. The government pays the interest, insurance, registration and token tax.

The Punjab E-Bike Scheme in Simple Words
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz relaunched the scheme for students, with one clear goal: cut the cost of getting to college to almost nothing.

The scale surprised everyone. The portal took more than 1.3 million registrations, and over 607,000 students completed a full application (APP).

ProPakistani reports a listed price of Rs 199,000, with students paying Rs 109,000 in total (ProPakistani). You own the bike after the final instalment.
What changed from the first plan
The June plan was Rs 2,100 a month for 2 years, with a Rs 14,000 down payment for boys. That plan was replaced. The round that actually opened has no down payment, a longer 3-year term, and a bigger subsidy.
Who Qualifies
The rules for this round, as published at launch (ARY News):
- Age 16 or above
- Student at a public or private institution in Punjab
- Driving licence or learner's permit
- Valid CNIC
- A parent or guardian as guarantor. The mobile number on the form must be in the guarantor's name
Government employees: not in this round. The Chief Minister approved them in principle for a later phase (ARY News).
The Bike You Get
- Motor: 1,000 watt
- Battery: 72V, 30Ah lithium (LFP)
- Top speed: about 50 to 55 km/h
- Colours: black for boys, pink for girls
It is one standard model. There is no catalogue to choose from in this round.
What Happens Next
- Balloting. 100,000 winners are picked by computerised ballot from the completed applications.
- Results on the portal. Check only on bikes.punjab.gov.pk.
- Handover. The Chief Minister has said distribution starts in early November.
- Free training. Girls who win get free riding training. Lahore has training centres with licence counters on site.
Missed the deadline?
This round is closed. The government has said the scheme will expand in phases, so get ready now:
- Get your licence or learner's permit sorted first. It is the most common reason people can't apply.
- Keep your CNIC, student proof and guarantor's number ready.
- Watch only the official portal. We update this page the day a new phase opens.
Why an E-Bike Actually Saves Money
Here is the rough math on a 60 km day.
A petrol bike doing about 35 km per litre burns close to 1.7 litres. With petrol near Rs 395 a litre, that is about Rs 675 a day.
An electric bike covers the same distance on about one unit of electricity, roughly Rs 45 to 50.
The fuel saving alone can pay the whole monthly instalment in about five riding days.

Watch Out for Scams
The scheme is free to apply. Anyone asking for a fee to "confirm your bike" or "move you up the ballot" is a fraud.
Check the address. The official portal is bikes.punjab.gov.pk. Real Government of Punjab sites end in .gov.pk.
Never send money to a WhatsApp number, Facebook page or any third-party website.
