An International Driving Permit or International Driving Permit (IDP) is an identity document that allows the holder to drive a private vehicle without any legal customs in any country that recognizes IDPs. How to Get an International Driving License in Pakistan
To apply for an international driving license, applicants must first have a national driving license issued by the City Traffic Police. You can visit any Traffic Licensing Center for the same, but it should be noted that an International License will only be issued by the Licensing Center which has previously issued the applicant with a respective local driving license. For this purpose, first, you need to complete your documents as mentioned in the section below.

Here is the complete process to apply for and get an international driving license in Pakistan by cities.
Punjab:
- Citizens of Punjab are highly recommended to book an appointment online through the Rasta app from Punjab IT Board which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
- The applicants can book an appointment after providing the CNIC information and required details, and selecting the nearest licensing center to visit by choosing desired time and the purpose of their visit from the list.
- The applicants need to get an application form that is provided free of cost at the licensing center and fill it out and submit it with the following documents:
- Two attested passport-size photos.
- Attested photocopy of a valid CNIC.
- Photocopy of the applicant’s passport.
- Photocopy of National Driving License.
- Medical Certificate (for age 50 years and above).
- A ticket of Rs.66 was obtained from the District Court.
- Fee Voucher of Rs.450 Voucher payable at Habib Bank Limited (HBL) branch.
Applicants should carry their original local driving license along with their original NIC and passport. After applying, you can get an international license for home delivery within 24 hours.

Islamabad:
Citizens of the federal capital Islamabad can visit Citizen Facilitation Center for International Driving Permit. Applicants should get an application form from Licensing Center and fill it up and submit it along with the following documents.
- Copy of valid driving license issued by Islamabad Traffic Police.
- Two passport-size photos.
- Copy of a valid passport and a valid visa.
- Copy of applicant’s CNIC.
- Residential proof in Islamabad.
- Post office driving stamp.
- Medical Certificate (if applicable).
Applicants from Islamabad can also download the form from its website and attach all the attested required documents. Normal procedures usually take 7 days, while urgent procedures may take only 24 hours.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
Residents of Peshawar can visit the Licensing Center at Tasnim Plaza near Benevolent Fund Building, Peshawar with the required attested documents to apply for International Driving License.
- Passport-size photographs.
- Photocopy of a valid driving license.
- Copy of a valid passport with a valid visa.
- Copy of the applicant’s CNIC.
- Residential proof.
- Postal driving stamp.
- Medical Certificate (if applicable, for age 50 years and above).
Sindh:
Citizens of Sindh need to visit the Driving License Sindh website to book online appointments and follow the above process with the required documents.
- Two passport-size photos.
- Copy of driving license issued by Sindh Police.
- Copy of a valid passport and a valid visa.
- Copy of CNIC of the applicant.
- Medical Certificate
