Today we going to share with you an interesting news about the launch of the world’s first flying bike. A Japanese start-up AERWINS Technologies has launched the world’s First Flying Bike that has been developing since 2017. The company unveiled a flying hoverbike in the United States at the Detroit Auto Show over the weekend. Touted as the world’s first flying bike, the XTURISMO is a hoverbike that can fly through the air. It has a Star Wars-inspired design.
Statement of Co-Chair of the Detroit Auto Show:

Thad Szott, the co-chair of the Detroit Auto Show, test-drove the bike at the event. He described the hoverbike ride as both “pleasant” and “exhilarating.” Szott stated, “I literally had chills and felt like a small kid,” according to a report by Euro News.
XTURISMO World’s First Flying Bike features:

The XTURISMO Limited Edition will not only be a new means of transportation but also serve as an emblem for air mobility. The bike looks sporty and fiction-inspired with exposed carbon fiber panels around the razor-sharp body that make it a real head-turner. The bike can fly because of the six propulsion fans that are located beneath its body.
Powertrain and Performance of Hoverbike:

It has equipped with an internal combustion engine that powers the fans for a cruising range of 40 kilometers. The hoverbike has two large central rotors powered by a 228-hp gas-powered Kawasaki motorcycle performance engine for thrust. Four smaller electric support rotors are mounted on the sides of the vehicle in addition to the primary rotors for stability. Currently, the hoverbike has a lightweight carbon fiber body that is about 12 feet long and weighs only 299 kg. Additionally, the hoverbike also comes with an automatic control system that enhances safety.
The XTURISMO has a weight of roughly 300 kg with 100 kg of cargo capacity and can also offer a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The hoverbike is capable of flying for up to 40 minutes in the air and can reach speeds of up to 62 miles per hour.
Further Features and Refinements:

According to reports, the hoverbike will continue to be improved. The bike’s range and flight time are currently restricted, and its internal combustion engine and propeller noise make it rather loud. Shuhei Komatsu, the company’s founder, and CEO revealed that in 2023, a more compact model will be offered for sale in the US.
Price of Hoverbike:

Additionally, the commercialization of XTurismo is not permitted by the present VTOL laws. Aerwins has set the XTurismo’s price at an outrageous $777,000 which is equal to the PKR 1.84 billion. The founder of AERWINS also claimed that the company is working to lower the price for a smaller, electric variant to $50,000 but that it would take 2-3 years and be ready by 2025.
Additionally, the startup has begun taking reservations. They also made available the footage of the flying bike. In 2022, the company will deliver about 200 Limited-Edition XTurismos before starting its commercial manufacturing.
